Voter Registration

Register to Vote!

Vote!Voter registration forms are available from the Contra Costa County Election Department, all City Clerk Offices, Post Offices, and the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Questions regarding voter registration or absentee ballots should be directed to the Contra Costa County Election Department in Martinez at (925) 335-7800.

You can register to vote any time, but if you want to vote in an election, you must be registered 15 days prior in order to vote in that election.

If you have moved, changed your name or changed your political party affiliation, you will need to re-register to vote. You should register as early as possible so that you receive election material in the mail. If you register less than 29 days before an election, you may not receive this information.

The Contra Costa County Elections Department is responsible for conducting all Federal, State, School, County, City and Special District elections. Their website is www.cocovote.us. For the Spanish version, go to www.cocovote.us/spanish.

After 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, check the County Elections Department webpage for election results.

Poll Workers Needed! The Contra Costa County Elections Division is seeking volunteers for the June 3, 2008 election.
The Contra Costa County Elections Division is seeking volunteers for the June 3, 2008 election. Inspectors receive $100 for serving all day, $30 per class, and other stipends (Average $200). The Elections Division will provide training. The application can be downloaded from this link. Duties are listed on the back of the application.
