April 17, 2008 Grand Theft

Do you know this person? Suspect Vern Town Saelee

On Thursday April 17, 2008 at about 7:10 pm Vern Town Saelee, a 20 year old male resident of Fairfield, entered a residence in the 700 block of Kearney Street under false pretenses and stole property from the homeowner. Saelee then fled the area on foot and has not been located.

September 21, 2007 Armed Robbery

On Friday September 21, 2007 at about 1:55 am this subject, an African American male, 25-35 years old, short and thin, with medium length dreadlocks and a short goatee, was armed with a firearm and robbed the 7-Eleven Store in El Cerrito. During the robbery the suspect was wearing a blue and black jacket, a black beanie and blue jeans.

August 24, 2007 Attempted Forgery

On Friday August 24, 2007 at about 11:20 am Latasha Locke, an 18 year old female resident of Richmond, entered Bank of America, at 10422 San Pablo Ave, and attempted to negotiate a forged check. Locke left the bank before El Cerrito Police Officers arrived.

October 16, 2006 Attempted Forgery

On Monday October 16, 2006 at about 3:00 pm Edwina Paulette Jones, a 27 year old female resident of Oakland, entered Bank of the West, at 11100 San Pablo Ave, and attempted to cash a counterfeit check. Jones left the bank before El Cerrito Police Officers arrived.

Who are the Crimestoppers?


Crimestoppers are a group of concerned citizens of West Contra Costa County who seek to assist local police departments in solving crimes of a serious nature. Crimestoppers raise funds to present to persons who provide information that assists in the solving of crimes in the communities.

The tips are provided anonymously to the tip line, and no names or further information is required. The caller is to give a code name of their choice and the information is sent to the appropriate police department. (Crimestoppers does not investigate the crime.)

When the crime is solved and the story is in the local newspaper, the tipster should call and seek the reward. The reward amount varies (up to $1000) and is paid in cash to the tipster, with only their code name as identification.

Please help us to help our Police and Sheriff's Departments solve the crimes that can only be solved by a tip from someone who has information but does not want to be identified. Crimestoppers anonymous tip line is (510) 799-TALK.
