Youth Services

In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the El Cerrito Recreation Department has adapted our Youth Services model to help meet the care needs of our community. Following guidance from the state and county health offices, our new program models center on the best practices for providing childcare to elementary age youth during the COVID-19 pandemic. Though the look and feel of our new programs may be different than what families are used to, we remain dedicated to providing services that focus on the health and safety of youth and staff, as well as allows our community to receive essential childcare services while still providing plenty of F.U.N.: Friends, Unity, and New Experiences!

Summer 2020

The Recreation Department has launched a new summer program with three Special Camp Sessions. During each session, families are required to commit to the entire session where their camper will remain in the same pod of campers with the same staff  the entire time. We are offering an array of City-run and Specialty options in hopes of meeting the varying needs of our community, including full-day and half-day options for all grades.

School Age Childcare (1)

The City of El Cerrito provides school-age, state licensed, child care facilities located throughout the City as well as recreational programs. During the COVID-19 Pandemic we are offering limited childcare options to El Cerrito Residents and students who attend El Cerrito elementary schools. School day, full day, and afternoon only options will be offered through October 29, 2020. Future programming details are to be announced.
