The Fire Department utilizes a line battalion chief as a fire marshal to oversee the Fire Prevention Division. The full fire prevention program includes:
A key component of this effort is vegetation management (on both public and private lands) to minimize the effects of a wildland / urban interface fire, and resulting structural conflagration. A fire prevention officer provides code enforcement, specialized inspections, and coordination of the department’s line and staff prevention duties.
No deferred submittal of fire suppression and fire alarm systems. Fire sprinkler and alarm permits need to be applied for and submitted at the same time as the building permit application is submitted.
