A resident submits an NTMP Petition Request Form to alert the City about a neighborhood problem that involves speeding, large volumes of traffic, and/or obstacles to walking/biking. The NTMP Petition Request Form is contained in Appendix C of the NTMP Report. The form requires a written description of the location and nature of reported concerns and 60 percent approval from the addresses on the project street, which is the block or blocks on which the neighborhood traffic management is being requested. Note that there are exceptions to the approval rating for extra long blocks and blocks that cross jurisdictional boundaries. Once the request is submitted, it will be processed in the order it is received. The resident submitting the request form will become the “neighborhood lead” and serve as the primary contact for City staff.
City staff will review the completed NTMP Petition Request Form to determine the approval rating. If the necessary approval rating has been achieved, City staff will prepare an initial response to the neighborhood lead with information regarding the next steps in the NTMP process. If the approval rate has not achieved, staff will inform the neighborhood lead that no further action will be taken at this time. However, the resident may resubmit the request at a later date.
