Affordable Housing in El Cerrito

New Affordable Housing Developments

There are currently two new mixed-use affordable residential projects in development:

Metro 510 (Creekside Walk)

Southeastern corner of El Cerrito Plaza, El Cerrito
Currently under construction. 19 affordable units (6 units low-income households and 13 units moderate-income households) will be available soon. The north building for Metro 510 is set to be complete by the end of April 2017 and the south building won’t be completed until summer 2017.

The interest list is closed and has been transferred to the developer. There are over 900 names on the interest list for the 19 below market rate units. The developer's renting agent will begin the affordable housing selection process by the end of March 2017. Please note the City has no role in selecting applicants for this affordable housing development.

Hana Gardens Apartments

10848 – 10860 San Pablo Avenue, El Cerrito
Construction began at the end of January, 2017. Once constructed, there will be 63 units available for seniors.

Attention: If you are interested in applying for a unit at Hana Gardens, a 63-unit mixed-use senior affordable housing community, you must submit a pre-application online by 5:00 pm, Sunday, January 21, 2018. Incomplete or partially completed pre-applications will not be accepted. All questions can be directed to (925) 957-7001.

If you are interested in being a potential resident of this new development, please contact
Eden Housing, Inc. at (510) 582-1460 to be placed on their interest list. Once on the interest list, Eden Housing will send out a flyer with information on the application process a couple months prior construction completion. Income limits and rental rates will not be available until closer to construction completion.
