El Cerrito is recognizing residents who are committed to environmental stewardship

By conserving energy and water, reducing waste, purchasing environmentally preferrable products, and minimizing impacts from travel.

Every person has the chance to make a difference by practicing environmental stewardship. Look for opportunities at home, at school, at work, in your community, and while shopping and traveling. The possibilities are endless, and the cumulative impacts of individual actions can really add up. Share ideas with your neighbors and demonstrate commitment to sustainable practices.

Participants who complete the survey by February 1, 2010 will be eligible to win $50 gift certificates from Ace Hardware, and other fun prizes. One entry per household. Winners will be validated by the EL Cerrito Environmental Quality Committee, and Green Champions will be recognized as part of the 2010 Earth Day Celebration.
