The City of El Cerrito's Environmental Quality Committee is hosting a FREE SHOWING of the award-winning film "Chasing Ice", a gripping and beautifully filmed chronicle of climate change, revealed through dramatic time-lapse images capturing retreating glaciers and polar ice cover.

Chasing Ice is the story of one man's mission to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of our changing planet. James Balog and a band of young adventurers undertake the Extreme Ice Survey, a deployment of pioneering time-lapse cameras across the brutal Arctic to capture a multi-year record of the world's changing glaciers.

The film will be followed by a panel of speakers on climate action in El Cerrito and beyond. Co-sponsors include the League of Women Voters and Contra Costa County Organizing for Action.
