Weigh in on the Draft San Pablo Avenue Specific Plan
Public Comment Period: June 3rd - July 21 (CLOSED)

The Draft San Pablo Avenue Specific Plan and Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) have been released for public comment and review. Written comments on the draft documents are due July 21. The Specific Plan includes regulatory requirements for new residential and commercial development on San Pablo Avenue, including increased heights, reduced parking and revised open space requirements. It also includes a Complete Streets Plan that identifies improvements along San Pablo Avenue aimed to foster increased walking, biking and transit use.

Help Design Our Urban Green Space

Come to this fun design workshop to help create plans for 5 exciting new urban greening projects throughout the City. The designs will help inform the development of the City's Urban Greening Plan.

Help Shape the Future of Housing in El Cerrito

Two community workshops on El Cerrito’s current and future housing needs will be held this summer. Be part of this important conversation! The City is updating its Housing Element for 2015-2022, with the goal of supporting a diversity of housing types, densities, and prices to meet the needs of current and future residents of all income levels, ages and abilities.  The workshops will provide residents with the opportunity to discuss housing issues and share ideas for addressing these issues. El Cerrito Environmental Quality Committee (EQC)
Meets every 2nd Tuesday | 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
El Cerrito City Hall Council Chambers, 10890  San Pablo Avenue
The EQC is a Council-appointed body of residents and business representatives who work to involve the community directly in understanding and reducing our impact on the environment. Regular meetings of the EQC often host informative presentations on environmental issues and policies. El Cerrito Open Space Campaign
 
Donations accepted to help unite the two wings of the Hillside Natural Area.
A group of dedicated volunteers, consisting of members of the El Cerrito Trail Trekkers, the El Cerrito High School Mountain Bike Club, Friends of Five Creeks and others, have formed the El Cerrito Open Space Campaign to raise funds to help the City purchase the 8-acre Madera Hillside Open Space property (marked in red on the map below) adjacent to the Hillside Natural Area.
