In September 2016, the City of El Cerrito's Public Works Department began construction of the annual pavement and curb ramp maintenance program for 2016. The project includes repairs at the following six street segments which currently have minor to moderate distressed pavement:

  • Arlington Boulevard - Barrett Ave. to North City Limit
  • Fairmount Avenue - Ohlone Greenway to San Pablo Avenue
  • Lexington Avenue - Fairmount Avenue to Eureka Avenue
  • Norvell Street - Fairmount Avenue to Eureka Avenue
  • Schmidt Lane - Navellier Street to End
  • Stockton Avenue - Richmond Street to San Pablo Avenue

The scope of work includes installation of curb ramps, repair of localized pavement failures, sealing of cracks, application of a full street width microsurfacing treatment, and installation of the traffic striping and markings. The curb ramp, pavement failure repair and crack sealing phases of the work were completed in 2016. The microsurfacing treatment and other work will be completed in Spring 2017 once we get past the concentrated rainy season and the weather warms up.
