Vacancies currently exist on the Crime Prevention Committee, Arts and Culture Commission, Civil Service Commission, Committee on Aging, Environmental Quality Committee, Financial Advisory Board, Human Relations Commission, and the Tree Committee. The City Council encourages residents to apply at any time, year-round, in case any unexpected vacancies occur. Once an application is received for a board or commission, the City Council conducts brief interviews with applicants before they fill a vacancy. If you are applying to serve on a committee (Crime Prevention Committee, Tree Committee, Committee on Aging or Environmental Quality Committee) there are different membership criteria, and residents are encouraged to attend a meeting of the committee to learn more details.
