Notice is hereby given that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of El Cerrito on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 for the following Officers:
Two Members of the City Council
Full terms of four years each
The candidate nomination period ran from July 12 to August 11, 2010 and resulted in the qualification and placement of the following two candidates on the ballot:
Rebecca Benassini, Urban Economic Analyst
Janet Abelson, Incumbent
Notice is further given to the qualified electors of the City of El Cerrito that the El Cerrito City Council has submitted for approval or rejection, the following measure to be placed on the November 2nd, 2010 ballot:

| El Cerrito Preservation of Citywide Services Funding. To protect and maintain City services, including fire prevention and emergency services; neighborhood police patrols, emergency response times, crime prevention and investigation resources; firefighter and police staffing; earthquake preparedness; afterschool programs for children and teens; senior services; parks; and other general City services: Shall the City of El Cerrito enact a half-cent sales tax for seven years, with citizens’ oversight, annual independent audits, and all funds staying local, none to Sacramento? |
