How To Get A Neighborhood Watch Sign
Any neighborhood group desiring to install a Neighborhood Watch Sign should show a conscientious effort to accomplish the following:
- Representatives from at least 75% of the homes in the area should attend a Neighborhood Watch Program presented by the El Cerrito Citizens’ Crime Prevention Committee. The program includes a slide or video presentation, crime prevention discussion and question period.
- At least 50% of the homes in the neighborhood shall have home inspections by members of the El Cerrito Citizens’ Crime Prevention Committee.
When the above items have been completed and verified by the Committee, we will contact the Public Works Department of El Cerrito, which will install the sign.
The cost of the sign is the responsibility of the Neighborhood Group involved in the program. The City charges $56.00 for each sign installed. When prorated among your neighbors the cost is fairly low for each.
