On Tuesday, July 2nd, 2002, two subjects were arrested at Big Five Sporting Goods, 11060 San Pablo Ave. The two subjects, Jerald Robinson (a 33-year-old resident of Richmond) and Rodney Lee (a 29-year-old resident of Richmond) were found to be on active parole and had purchased firearm ammunition from Big Five. They were arrested and booked for 12316(b)(1) PC/ Felon in possession of ammunition and for 3056 PC/ Parole violation. They were transported to Martinez Detention Facility. On Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at approximately 1443 hours, Corporal Horgan responded to Ross-Dress for Less, located at the El Cerrito Plaza to investigate a reported employee theft. Simms-Rainey, Komet Marie, a 20-year-old resident of Richmond was arrested for allegedly embezzling thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Ross. Ross was booked and released pending further investigation. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a complaint against Simms-Rainey with the District Attorney’s Office. On Monday, June 17, 2002 at approximately 2200 hours, officers of the El Cerrito Police Department responded to 1400 block of Arlington Boulevard on report of a domestic disturbance. During Officer Keith’s investigation, Sergeant Mann located and detained Ryan Allen, a 28-year-old resident of El Cerrito on Potrero Avenue. Allen was taken into custody and booked for spousal battery. Following his booking, Allen was transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a complaint against Allen with the District Attorney’s Office. On June 15th, at approximately 1230 pm, officers of the El Cerrito Police Department responded to the report of a forgery in progress at the Mechanic’s Bank, located at Fairmount Ave and San Pablo Ave. Officer Doty spotted the get away vehicle driving erratically on Carlson Blvd and conducted a traffic enforcement stop. The driver of the vehicle, Christpopher Dwayne Nealy, a 33 year old resident of Richmond was arrested for felony driving under the influence of alcohol. A passenger in the vehicle, Chantee Laverne Sullivan was identified as having tried to cash a forged check using false identification and arrested. Officer Leone determined that Sullivan had committed an additional forgery at the Mechanic’s Bank on June 14th. Sullivan and Nealy were booked into the County Jail in Martinez. On Thursday, June 13, 2002 at approximately 2100 hours, Detectives Pierson and Albrandt responded to the Alameda County Jail/Santa Rita where they took custody of Chris Farley Patrick, a 20-year-old resident of El Sobrante. Patrick was arrested and held on a Ramey Warrant that was secured following his suspected involvement in a previously reported auto theft case. Following his booking, Patrick was transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez on a charge of auto theft. The El Cerrito Police Department filed felony charges against Patrick at the District Attorney’s Office. On Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at approximately 1111 hours, Officer Tang responded to the area of Knott Avenue and Key Boulevard where he assisted BART Police with a search of two suspected auto burglars/thieves that had fled. A short distance away, two youths, one 13, the other 15, were detained and subsequently taken into custody for auto-burglary and attempted auto theft. Following booking, both subjects were released to the custody of their parents This case will be brought for consideration to the Department of Juvenile Probation. On Sunday, June 2, 2002 at approximately 2010 hours, Officer D. Alvarez responded to 926 Avis Drive on report of an assault between two juveniles. Officer Alvarez arrested a 17-year-old resident of El Cerrito after it was determined that he directed a homemade torch at another resident, singing their clothes. The youth was brought to the El Cerrito Police Department and later taken to Juvenile Hall in Martinez where he was booked on a charge of Assault with a Deadly Weapon. This case will be brought for consideration to the Department of Juvenile Probation. On Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at approximately 210 hours, Officer Carcione responded to the Albertson’s store located at 1000 El Cerrito Plaza on the report of a shoplifter in custody. Officer Carcione arrested Casey Segovia a 28-year-old resident of Richmond after it was determined that she left the store with unpaid merchandise. Segovia was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and later taken to the County Jail in Martinez where she was held on a charge of grand theft/shoplift. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a criminal complaint with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. On Wednesday, 6/5/2002, at approximately 1345 hours, Officer Hartung responded to Safeway, 10636 San Pablo Avenue, on the report of a check fraud. Officer Hartung took Ann Ellen Castillo, a 39 year-old resident of Richmond, into custody. Castillo was booked and released pending further investigation. On Wednesday, 6/5/2002, at approximately 2025 hours, Officer Shaman responded to Ross (Dress for Less) located at 2000 El Cerrito Plaza on the report of a shoplifter in custody. Officer Shaman took Gladys Patricia Floyd, a 41-year-old resident of Richmond, into custody. Floyd was booked and transported to Martinez Detention Facility on charges of petty theft with priors. On Thursday, 6/6/2002, at approximately 2125 hours, officers of the El Cerrito Police Department responded to Ross (Dress for Less) located at 2000 El Cerrito Plaza, on the report of a robbery that had just occurred. Corporal Barruetto located the suspect and the stolen money inside a vehicle, parked at Ross. Arrested was Shalonda Latrice Davis, a 23 year old resident of Richmond. Davis was booked into the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez on robbery charges. The investigation into this matter is ongoing and a complaint against Davis will be sought with the District Attorney’s Office. On 06-10-02, at approximately 1640 hours, Officer W. Zink responded to Safeway, located at 10636 San Pablo Ave on the report of a shoplifter in custody. Officer Zink arrested Bernadette Antoinette Young, a 36-year-old resident of Richmond. Young was booked and sent to the Sheriff’s Detention facility in Martinez under Petty Theft with Priors charges. On 06-10-02, at approximately 2216 hours, Officer Paul Keith conducted a traffic stop at San Pablo Avenue near Eastshore Boulevard. Found in possession of suspected rock cocaine was Mario Bell, a 24-year-old resident of Richmond. Following his arrest and booking on drug charges, Bell was released pending further investigation. On 06-11-02, at approximately 1826 hours, Officer Carcione responded to Long’s Drug Store, located at 10650 San Pablo Avenue to investigate a shoplifter who was in custody. Arrested was Frank K. Jones, a 50 year-old resident of San Ramon. Jones was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez on charges of theft with priors and parole violation. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a criminal complaint against Jones with the District Attorney’s Office. On 06-12-02, at approximately 0130 hours, Officers of the El Cerrito Police department responded to 929 Liberty Street to investigate a residential/garage burglary. Officers locate and arrest Robert Henry Fouke, a 29-year-old resident of Kensington and Rickey Wallace Carter, a 42-year-old resident of El Cerrito. Fouke was booked on felony charges and is being held at the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez on the charge of burglary. Carter was released on citation for a misdemeanor charge of prowling. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek criminal complaints against both subjects with the Office of The District Attorney. On 06-13-02, at approximately 0046 hours, Officers of the El Cerrito Police department responded to 7118 Central Avenue to investigate a possible robbery. Officers Shaman’s investigation led to the arrest of Lamon Dante Raney, a 22-year-old resident of El Cerrito. Raney was booked on felony charges and is being held at the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez on the charge of robbery. This case is currently under investigation as other suspects may be involved. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek criminal complaints against Raney with the Office of The District Attorney. On Sunday June 23, 2002 at approximately 6:20pm Corporal Horgan responded to the Ross Store located at 2000 El Cerrito Plaza on the report of an employee being detained for theft. Corporal Horgan arrested Komet Marie Simms-Rainey (20) of Richmond after it was determined that she had allowed merchandise to leave the store that had not been paid for. It was learned that Mrs. Simms-Rainey had allowed subjects to leave the business on 10 separate occasions. Mrs. Simms-Rainey was arrested and booked for Grand Theft. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a criminal complaint with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
