On Sunday, December 26th,2004 an officer stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations and found that the juvenile driver had an arrest warrant out of Contra Costa County and was listed as a missing person from Fresno. The passenger, James Foreman, a 35 year old male from Richmond was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine for sales after several baggies containing a clear crystalline substance fell out of his pant legs. The juvenile was sent to juvenile hall, and Foreman was sent to the county jail in Martinez. Charges will be sought through the District Attorney’s office. On December 25th, 2004 at 1530 hours, Cpl Bonini stopped a stolen Toyota Camry reported out of East Bay Regional Parks at Point Isabel December 22nd. The driver, Lynda Bishop was taken into custody without incident after she pulled over during a traffic stop. She was booked into the County Jail. On Wednesday, December 22nd 2004 1415 hours Officers responded to the sounds of a disturbance in a motel room at the Super 8 Motel. Jerimiah Johnson, 28 years old from El Sobrante and his wife Mary Ramirez 34 years had barricaded the door with the hide-a-bed after Jerimiah had injected himself with Methamphetamine. They were taken into custody after officers broke out a window to gain entrance to the room. Hypodermic needles and methamphetamine were located inside the room. Jerimiah Johnson was booked and sent to County Jail on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and hypodermic needles and an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Mary Ramirez was released on a citation on similar charges. On 12/12/2004, at approximately 1046 hours, Officer Hoffman stopped a motorist who quickly exited his vehicle after he parked on Lexington Avenue, near Central Avenue. The driver identified himself with A California Department of Corrections Parole Card. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered 17 forged DMV temporary registration stickers and some videotapes. A later review of the tapes by Detective Zink revealed that the detained motorist had been sexually involved with a female juvenile. The tape depicted a variety of sexual acts, all which violate statutory laws in California. Arrested was Carleton Dwight Cannon, a 30-year-old resident of Richmond. Cannon was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department on a variety of felonious charges for having sexual relations with a minor before he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal criminal complaint against Cannon with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. On 12/12/2004, at approximately 0150 hours, Officer Shiah ran the license plate mounted on a Ford Maverick traveling near So. 55th Street and Potrero Avenue. When the vehicle was confirmed to be stolen, Officers Shiah and Albrandt contacted the driver after the vehicle parked in front of 5118 Fallon Avenue (Richmond). Arrested was Larry Lee, a 26-year-old resident of Richmond. Lee was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department on a felonious charge of auto theft before he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal criminal complaint against Lee with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. On 12/10/2004, at approximately 1903 hours, Officer Albrandt ran the license plate of a Chevy Lumina that was traveling onto So. 55th Street and continued westbound onto Potrero Avenue where the vehicle was determined to be a reported stolen automobile. The driver abandoned the vehicle at the corner of Cypress Avenue and So. 49th Street and fled on foot into Eastshore Park where he was apprehended by Officer Albrandt. Arrested was Calvin Van Davis, a 22-year-old resident of Richmond. Davis was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department on a felonious charge of auto theft and two misdemeanor charges of delaying an officer and being an unlicensed driver before he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal criminal complaint against Davis with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. On 12/9/2004, at approximately 1800 hours, officers from this department were dispatched to the intersection of Everett Street and Central Avenue where BART P.D. had stopped a vehicle believed to be involved in a burglary. According to BART P.D. Sgt. Austin, he stopped a motorist for a violation and during the stop, a female walked up and advised Sgt. Austin that the tool chest in the back of the SUV was stolen. The female assisted officers by pointing out the residence where the tools were stolen from. The home was located in the 6500 block of Cutting Boulevard. The female alleged that she accompanied the suspect (person that BART P.D. had stopped) earlier to the house where he backed his vehicle into the driveway where he loaded the tool chest into the vehicle. Arrested was Adam Thomas Muela, a 39-year-old resident of El Cerrito. Muela was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department on a felonious charge of burglary before he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal criminal complaint against Muela with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. On 12/08/2004, at approximately 2018 hours, Officer Bell stopped a motorist near the intersection of San Pablo Avenue and Moeser Lane for driving a vehicle that bore no plates. During the stop, one of the passengers was found to be in possession of a controlled substance (rock cocaine). Arrested was Sedrick Shelton King, a 24-year-old resident of Richmond. King was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department on a felonious charge of cocaine possession before he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal criminal complaint against King with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
