On Wednesday May 30, 2007 at about 9:00 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Children’s Hospital in Oakland on a report of child abuse. After an investigation, Edeaudo Paula De Jesus Junio, a 31 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for willful cruelty to a child and corporal injury to a child. Junio was also found to be in possession of stolen property. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday May 29, 2007 at about 10:30 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of an attempted residential burglary in the 2000 block of Junction Ave. After an investigation, a 14 year old male resident of Richmond was arrested for burglary and attempted burglary. He was transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday May 28, 2007 at about 8:17 pm Officer Wahrlich arrested a 17 year old male resident of Richmond for an outstanding Ramey warrant obtained during a vehicle theft investigation from 2006. He was transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Thursday May 24, 2007 at about 11:21 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a theft at Albertson’s, at 1000 El Cerrito Plaza. After an investigation, Brian Christopher Rafferty, a 26 year old male resident of San Rafael, was arrested for theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday May 23, 2007 at about 9:48 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at Portola Middle School, at 1021 Navellier Street. After an investigation, a 15 year old resident of Richmond was arrested for battery. He was transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday May 22, 2007 at about 11:05 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a fraud in progress at Target. After an investigation, Francynea Eison, a 40 year old female resident of Oakland, was arrested for attempting to use a counterfeit license and checks at the business. She was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney's Office.

On Monday May 21, 2007 at about 10:22 pm Officer Purdy, assisted by Corporal Hartung, conducted a pedestrian stop on Aubrey Chester Holmes, a 29 year old male resident of Albany, who was walking in the roadway on San Pablo Ave south of Conlon Ave. Holmes was observed discarding drug paraphernalia, and attempted to flee from Officers on foot. The Officers apprehended Holmes, who fought with them and tried the take one of the Officers’ firearms. Once Holmes was detained, Officers discovered he had provided a false name during the initial detention and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for assaulting a Vacaville Police Officer. Holmes was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Sunday May 20, 2007 at about 2:54 pm Officer Del Prado conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested Brandon Bell, a 18 year old male resident of Richmond, Hakim Hasan, a 19 year old male resident of Richmond, Antoine Roberts, a 42 year old male resident of Oakland, and a 15 year old male resident of Richmond after they were found in possession of a stolen handgun, for which Roberts had just illegally purchased ammunition. Bell and Roberts were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility, and Hasan and the juvenile were released, pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday May 18, 2007 at about 5:30 a.m. El Cerrito Police Officers responded to reports of three separate strong arm robberies that occurred at various locations in the city. The three victims were each confronted individually by a group of males, who physically assaulted them and demanded property. The victims all provided descriptions of the suspects, including a description of the suspects’ vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and detained it. The occupants of the vehicle were determined to be the suspects who attacked the victims, and were found to be in possession of the victims’ stolen property. Officers subsequently arrested Steven Shade Buchter, an 18 year old male resident of Richmond, Joseph White Ferguson, a 20 year old male resident of Richmond, Andrew Richard Hill, an 18 year old male resident of Richmond, Rodney Elias Rodriguez, a 19 year old male resident of Pinole, and Dustin Michael Ratilainen, an 18 year old male resident of San Pablo. Buchter, Ferguson, Hill, Rodriguez and Ratilainen were all transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Thursday May 17, 2007 at about 11:45 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Knott Ave and Key Blvd. The initial report suggested a stranger had committed the assault, and fled with the weapon. After an investigation, Brian Kenneth Kinyon, a 20 year old male resident of Pinole, was arrested when it was determined that he had injured his friend with a folding knife, possibly by accident. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday May 17, 2007 at about 9:25 p.m. El Cerrito Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Navellier Street and Gladys Ave on a report of a robbery that just occurred. Officers arrived and determined that a male suspect approached the victims in a blacked out vehicle while they were standing outside their car. The suspect exited his car and displayed a long gun, demanding money from the victims. After the robbery the suspect fled in a dark colored sedan.

On Thursday May 24, 2007 at about 10:30 am Detectives arrested Ansar Raheem Taylor, an 18 year old male resident of Richmond, on a Ramey warrant obtained for Taylor's arrest in connection with the robbery. Taylor was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday May 17, 2007 at about 7:40 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of recyclable theft in the 600 block of Lexington Ave and subsequently arrested Yin Ling Lee, a 54 year old female resident of Berkeley, for assaulting the Officers when they attempted to detain her for the theft. She was released pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday May 16, 2007 at about 2:55 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 5700 block of Alta Punta Drive. After an investigation, Alan Alberthenry Ow, a 38 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday May 16, 2007 at about 12:20 pm School Resource Officers at the El Cerrito High School arrested a 16 year old male resident of Rodeo after an investigation revealed he had obtained money from another student using intimidation. He was released to his guardian pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday May 15, 2007 at about 1:51 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a fraud in progress at Washington Mutual Bank. After an investigation, Tonya Marie Flin, a 41 year old female resident of Vallejo, was arrested for attempting to open an account at the bank with a fraudulent California driver's license using someone else's personal identifying information. Officers also determined Flin had provided the fraudulent license and personal information when she was issued a traffic citation earlier in the day, which was an additional criminal offense. Flin was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney's Office.

On Tuesday May 15, 2007 at about 12:30 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 500 block of Ashbury Ave. After an investigation, a 17 year old female resident of Richmond was arrested for striking a probation officer in the face during a fight with another subject. She was transported to Juvenile Hall pending filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday May 15, 2007 at about 0459 hours Officer Alvarez arrested Gabriel Bautista Ricafort, a 35 year old male resident of Newark, after he was observed driving a stolen vehicle. Ricafort attempted to elude capture, fleeing from Officers in the vehicle. He abandoned the vehicle after a short vehicle pursuit, then fled from Officers on foot. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office. On Sunday May 13, 2007 at about 1130 hours Officer Matsui arrested Jorge Marin Camilli, a 47 year old male resident of Richmond, after he was found in possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday May 11, 2007 at about 1:20 pm Officer Matsui arrested Jose Juan Carriedo, a 27 year old male resident of El Cerrito, after he was found under the influence of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a pedestrian stop. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday May 8, 2007 at about 1425 hours El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Wells Fargo Bank and arrested a 17 year old female resident of Richmond for attempting to negotiate a counterfeit/forged check. She was released to a guardian pending filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office. On Saturday May 12, 2007 at about 1825 hours El Cerrito Police Officers were dispatched to the area of San Pablo Ave and Waldo Ave on a report of shots in the area. Officers arrived and determined that two male suspects entered the victim’s home to conduct a robbery. During the robbery the victim was physically assaulted, sustaining minor injuries. The victim fled the scene during the robbery and was shot at by the suspects. The suspects fled the scene and are still at large. The suspects are described as a heavy set Hispanic or White male in his early twenties and a black male of average height and weight, in his thirties.

On Wednesday May 9, 2007 at about 0821 hours El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 2000 block of Key Blvd. After an investigation, Ji Won Cho, a 41 year old female resident of Millbrae, was arrested for assault. She was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday May 8, 2007 at about 0745 hours El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Safeway and arrested Eric Joseph Fisher, a 27 year old male resident of Richmond for stealing meat from the business. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday May 7, 2007 at about 2134 hours Officer Wahrlich arrested Sou Kouy Saechao, a 20 year old male, Jose Martin Nunez, a 33 year old male, and a 16 year old male, all residents of Richmond, after they were found in possession of burglary tools and a BB gun, and admitted they were planning to steal a car. Saechao and Nunez were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and the juvenile was released to a guardian, pending filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Saturday May 5, 2007 at about 7:05 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 700 block of Ashbury Ave. After an investigation, Daniel Erik Petersen, a 33 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. He was released pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday May 2, 2007 at about 0524 hours Officer Wahrlich arrested Donald Thomas, a 30 year old male resident of Richmond, for possession of stolen property. Thomas was observed pushing a shopping cart containing plants stolen from Long’s Drugs. He was released pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.
