On Saturday June 30, 2007 at about 10:55 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Target, at 11450 San Pablo Ave, on a report of an attempted fraud. After an investigation, Sylvester Williams, a 51 year old male resident of Richmond, and Rufus McClanahan, a 46 year old male resident of San Pablo, were arrested after it was determined that they attempted to negotiate counterfeit bills at both Target and Orchard Supply Hardware. Williams and McClanahan were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Thursday June 28, 2007 at about 1:20 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Washington Mutual bank, at 9950 San Pablo Ave, on a report of a theft in progress. After an investigation Ronnie Royston, a 38 year old male resident of Albany, and Aris Mark, a 20 year old female resident of Albany, were arrested for forgery. Royston and Mark were released pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday June 27, 2007 at about 12:30 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Big 5 Sporting Goods, at 11060 San Pablo Ave, on a report of a theft. After an investigation, Jessica Berkley, a 19 year old female resident of Richmond, was arrested for embezzlement. She was released pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday June 25, 2007 at about 2:34 am Officer Hoffman arrested Joshua Bell, a 25 year old male resident of El Cerrito, after Bell was found to be driving a vehicle stolen a few hours earlier in Berkeley. Bell was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday June 25, 2007 at about 4:02 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Target, at 11450 San Pablo Ave, on a report of a theft. After an investigation Hector Hernandez, a 24 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for theft. Hernandez was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Sunday June 24, 2007 at about 1:40 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Orchard Supply Hardware, at 1751 Eastshore Blvd, on a report of a theft. After an investigation Office Del Prado arrested Cindy Thornton, a 49 year old female resident of Pinole, for theft and Paul Bernavich, a 42 year old male resident of San Pablo, after he was found in possession of heroin and methadone. Thornton and Bernavich were both transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday June 20, 2007 at about 5:10 pm Corporal Wong arrested Gary Sterling, a 45 year old male resident of Richmond, Lee Crippen, a 44 year old male resident of Richmond, and Rhonda Frazier, a 43 year female resident of Richmond, after they were found in possession of a loaded, concealed 22 caliber Derringer pistol, methamphetamine and personal identifying information and property belonging to numerous victims. They were released pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Sunday June 24, 2007 at about 7:50 pm Officer Matsui arrested Rodney Arnett Jones, a 21 year old male resident of Albany, after Jones turned himself in on a Ramey warrant at the El Cerrito Police Department. Jones was identified as the person responsible for a theft that occurred on May 29, 2007 at Albertsons, at 1000 El Cerrito Plaza. Jones was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday May 29, 2007 at about 2:38 pm Sergeant Horgan arrested Richard Applegate, a 38 year old male resident of El Cerrito, after he was found in possession of illegal fireworks, a counterfeit fifty dollar bill and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop. He was released pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday June 22, 2007 at about 2:45 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Target, at 11450 San Pablo Ave, on a report of a theft. After an investigation Antrell Stanifer, a 40 year old male resident of Berkeley, was arrested for theft. Stanifer was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Saturday June 23, 2007 at about 4:00 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 6600 block of Cutting Blvd and contacted Rodolfo Avitia, a 31 year old male resident of San Leandro and Edelmira Raygoza, a 39 year old female resident of El Cerrito. Avitia and Raygoza resisted the officers’ investigative attempts and were both determined to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Avitia and Raygoza then physically assaulted officers, eventually injuring both police and fire personnel. During their arrest, Yaleth Bocardo, a 22 year old female resident of El Cerrito, attempted to intercede, further obstructing officers. Bocardo was also arrested. After his arrest Avitia was found to be in possession of cocaine. Avitia, Raygoza and Bocardo were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday June 22, 2007 at about 2:40 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Target, at 11450 San Pablo Ave, on a report of a theft. After an investigation, Lequoia Cox, a 24 year old female resident of Richmond, was arrested for theft. Cox was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday June 19, 2007 at about 12:54 pm El Cerrito PD Officers were conducting a criminal investigation at Long’s, at 10650 San Pablo Ave when they were advised of another crime in progress at the store. After an investigation Andrew Heady, a 25 year old male resident of San Francisco, was arrested for theft. Heady was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday June 19, 2007 at about 12:54 pm El Cerrito PD Officers responded to a report of a theft at Long’s, at 10650 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Don Anderson, a 47 year old male resident of Oakland, and Valarie Williams, a 47 year old female resident of Richmond, were arrested for theft after it was discovered that Williams distracted a woman while Anderson stole the woman’s wallet. Williams was released and Anderson was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday June 18, 2007 at about 8:20 pm Officer Purdy conducted a probation search in the 3400 block of Belmont Ave, in connection with a drug arrest from the night prior. Officer Purdy subsequently arrested Brandon Mercer, a 31 year old male resident of Berkeley, for being in possession of crystal methamphetamine and syringes, and Iris Bendahan, a 47 year old female resident of Berkeley, for being in possession of crystal methamphetamine. Mercer and Bendahan were released pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Sunday June 17, 2007 at about 6:42 pm Officer Purdy arrested Thomas Albino, a 50 year old male resident of Richmond, after he was found in possession of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a pedestrian stop. Albino was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Saturday June 16, 2007 at about 12:34 pm El Cerrito PD Officers responded to a report of a theft at Ross, at 2000 El Cerrito Plaza. After an investigation Audrena Marie Jones, a 40 year old female resident of Oakland, was arrested for theft. Jones was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday June 12, 2007 at about 7:47 am Corporal Wong arrested Timothy David Whalen, a 32 year old male transient, on an outstanding Ramey warrant, after Whalen was turned over to the El Cerrito Police Department by Marin County. Whalen was identified during an investigation as the suspect in a vehicle theft from April 2006. Whalen was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday June 12, 2007 at about 9:40 am Officer Mills arrested a thirteen year old male resident of Richmond after he was identified as the person responsible for a strong arm robbery that occurred on Monday June 11, 2007. He was transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday June 11, 2007 at about 11:40 pm Officer Hoffman conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested Charles Lamont Jackson, a 49 year old male resident of Berkeley, after the vehicle he was driving was determined to be stolen. The passenger in the vehicle, Jamila Woods, a 33 year old female resident of Berkeley, was also arrested after she provided a false name and was found to have a fake driver’s license and forged checks in her possession. Jackson and Woods were both transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday June 11, 2007 at about 3:56 pm Corporal Wong arrested Jason Charette, a 32 year old male resident of Richmond, after he was found to be under the influence, and in possession of, methamphetamine during a pedestrian stop. Charette was released pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Saturday June 9, 2007 at about 8:26 pm Officer Thepkaysone arrested Francisco Javier Suarez-Rodriguez, a 36 year old male resident of Richmond, after he was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a pedestrian stop. Suarez-Rodriguez was released pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday June 6, 2007 at about 4:00 pm Corporal Wong arrested Marcrese Lewis, a 21 year old male resident of Richmond, after he was found, using the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System, in possession of a vehicle stolen less than an hour prior. Lewis was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the District Attorney’s Office.
