On Saturday August 30, 2008 at about 8:07 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Pic n Pac Liquors, at 10012 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Isaiah Smith, a 31 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for theft. Smith was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday August 29, 2008 at about 11:44 pm Officer Del Prado arrested Efren Brambila, a 37 year old male resident of San Pablo, after Brambila was found to be feloniously driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage during a traffic stop. Brambila was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday August 28, 2008 at about 4:15 am Officer Purdy was working bicycle patrol when he observed a subject in the process of removing and stealing a catalytic converter from a vehicle. Officer Purdy subsequently arrested the subject, Christopher Ronald Terranova, a 42 year old male resident of Richmond, for attempted Grand Theft. Terranova was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

Press Release August 29, 2008

On August 26, 2008 at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers from the El Cerrito Police Department responded to the report of a Robbery at the Yuet Foo restaurant located at 10350 San Pablo Avenue.

After speaking with the victims, it was determined that the below described suspects entered the restaurant. Suspect 1 displayed a handgun. The suspects then took cash from the business as well as cash and property from two patrons.

The El Cerrito Police Department is looking into the possibility that these suspects have committed similar type robberies in surrounding jurisdictions.

On Monday August 25, 2008 at about 10:25 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Burger King, at 6021 San Pablo Ave, on a report of a disturbance. After an investigation Brandon Leandre Allen, a 27 year old male resident of Richmond, and Jeremy Ian Hill, a 27 year old male resident of Richmond, were arrested for assault and illegal threats. Allen and Hill were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Monday August 25, 2008 at about 2:42 am Officer Matsui arrested Richard Ludlow, a 37 year old male resident of San Pablo, after Ludlow identified himself falsely and was found in possession of burglary tools during a pedestrian stop. Ludlow was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Sunday August 24, 2008 at about 8:28 am Officer Hernandez arrested Angel Luis Gonzalez, a 30 year old male resident of Oakland, during a pedestrian stop after Gonzalez was found to be in possession of property stolen minutes earlier from an unlocked vehicle. Gonzalez was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Saturday August 23, 2008 at about 8:26 pm Officer Thepkaysone arrested Darryl Karlsam Vida, a 46 year old male resident of Pinole, after Vida was found in possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. Vida was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Saturday August 23, 2008 at about 1:42 am Officer Del Prado arrested Jamie Ramon Suarez, a 35 year old male resident of Oakland, after Suarez was found in possession of methamphetamine during a bicycle stop. Suarez was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday August 15, 2008 at about 7:30 pm El Cerrito Detectives arrested Robert Louis Jamison Jr, a 25 year old male resident of San Leandro, pursuant to a Ramey warrant obtained after it was determined that Jamison met a 12 year old on a telephone chat line, then met her in person in El Cerrito and engaged in lewd and lascivious conduct with her. Jamison was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday August 21, 2008 at about 8:50 am El Cerrito Detectives arrested Vernice Gail Woodley, a 49 year old female resident of Hercules, pursuant to a Ramey warrant obtained after Woodley was identified as the person responsible for committing an armed robbery at Subway, located at 10398 San Pablo Ave, on Thursday July 17, 2008. Woodley has also been connected with several other recent commercial armed robberies in Contra Costa County. Woodley was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday August 20, 2008 at about 4:07 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 1100 block of Elm Court. After an investigation Erik Benjamin Sherwood, a 35 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested after he was found in possession of a large number of forged and counterfeit checks. Sherwood was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday August 7, 2008 at about 4:30 pm, during an unrelated investigation, El Cerrito Police Officers located evidence of a substantial marijuana grow operation in the 600 block of Elm Street. WESTNET Agents responded and subsequently confiscated over 140 marijuana plants and a large quantity of commercial growing equipment. Mark Oliver Stam, a 33 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for the illegal cultivation. Stam was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday August 7, 2008 at about 3:30 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a strong arm robbery that just occurred in the 10200 block of San Pablo Ave. Minutes later a report of a second strong arm robbery was received, this one from the BART path at Eureka Ave. Officers observed the suspect, who fled into the 600 block of Elm Street. After a search, Darrell Wayne Alverson, a 22 year old male resident of San Pablo, was located and arrested for the robberies. Alverson was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

Dorjsuren was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Tuesday August 5, 2008 at about 2:50 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress in the 5400 block of Silva Ave. Officers quickly located and arrested Brandon Christopher Bell, a 19 year old male resident of Richmond, Darrell Devon James Shareef, a 19 year old male resident of Richmond, and Antonio Jermaine Thomas, an 18 year old male resident of Richmond, for burglary. Bell, Shareef and Thomas were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

After an investigation Mark Keith Wendlandt, a 23 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Siedman and Gonzalez were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.
