On November 30, 2008 at about 10:10 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Safeway, at 10636 San Pablo Ave, on a report of shoplifting. After an investigation Hashim Williams, a 28 year old male resident of San Francisco, was arrested for theft. Williams was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 30, 2008 at about 8:14 am Officer Cooper arrested Adam Watson Davis, a 37 year old male resident of Richmond, after Davis was found in possession of an illegal weapon during a bicycle stop. Davis was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 24, 2008 at about 5:42 am Officer Thepkaysone arrested Synthia White, a 43 year old resident of El Cerrito, after White was found in possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop. White was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

November 24, 2008

On November 24, 2008, at approximately 0130 hours members of the El Cerrito Police Department were conducting an undercover operation directed at the capture of suspects involved in the theft of recyclable metals from the City Corporation Yard. During that operation, two suspects were discovered to be in the yard. One of the suspects was apprehended as he attempted to flee the yard. The suspect left behind copper pipe he and another suspect had prepared for theft. The second suspect fled. An extensive search was conducted, but he eluded capture.

The suspect who was taken into custody was identified as Alexander Itzigheine from the City of San Pablo. Itzigheine was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to the County Jail in Martinez. The case will be forwarded to the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office for review and filing. (ECPD Case #08-23539)

In a separate but related matter, On November 24, 2008, at approximately 0200 hours a California Highway Patrol helicopter was assisting the El Cerrito Police Department in the search for the Corporation Yard theft suspect who eluded capture. Highway Patrol Officers on board the helicopter reported to El Cerrito Police Officers that a subject on the ground was shinning a laser pointing device into the pilot's and co-pilot's eyes.

The Officers on board the helicopter directed El Cerrito Police Officers on the ground to the suspect's residence and Brian Butler from El Cerrito was taken into custody for shining the laser pointing device at the helicopter. Butler was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to the County Jail in Martinez. The case will be forwarded to the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office for review and filing. (ECPD Case #08-23531)

On November 22, 2008 at about 9:47 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Safeway, at 10636 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Timothy Harris, a 48 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for theft. Harris was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 21, 2008 at about 2:46 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a forgery in progress at Mechanics Bank, at 9996 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Thiago Leite, a 26 year old male resident of Richmond, and Dacvnha Melquesedec, a 28 year old male resident of Richmond, were arrested for forgery. Leite and Melquesedec were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 21, 2008 at about 2:35 pm Officer Chalk arrested Matthew David Tong, a 30 year old male resident of El Cerrito, after Tong was found in possession of an illegal weapon and a controlled substance during a traffic stop. Tong was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 21, 2008 at about 1:40 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a disturbance in the 1200 block of Liberty Street. After an investigation Daphne Guzman, a 25 year old female resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Guzman was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 19, 2008 at about 3:55 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Lucky's, at 1000 El Cerrito Plaza, on a report of shoplifting. After an investigation Rodrick Watson, a 43 year old male resident of Oakland, and Cecilia Poindexter, a 54 year old female resident of Oakland, were arrested for theft. Watson and Poindexter were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 19, 2008 at about 11:44 am Officer Jacala arrested a 15 year old female resident of Richmond after the juvenile was fighting at El Cerrito High School and made illegal threats against school personnel. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 18, 2008 at about 12:37 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a disturbance in the 7100 block of Mound Ave. After an investigation Jeanna Eason, a 32 year old female resident of El Cerrito, and Raymond Burgos, a 44 year old male resident of El Cerrito, were arrested for assault. Eason was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and Burgos was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

After an investigation Donald Dwight Bryant, a 53 year old male resident of Oakland, was arrested for theft. Bryant was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 17, 2008 at about 10:56 am Officer Matsui arrested Sergio Reynoso, a 35 year old male resident of Richmond, Fernando Alejandre, a 28 year old male resident of Richmond, and Arturo Pizana, a 35 year old male resident of Richmond, after Reynoso was found feloniously in possession of a loaded firearm and Alejandre and Pizana were found in possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. Reynoso, Alejandre and Pizana were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

After an investigation Bonnie Marie Hamilton, a 29 year old female resident of Richmond, was arrested for theft. After an investigation Oscar Angulo-Ibarra, a 21 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for theft. Angulo-Ibarra was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 14, 2008 at about 3:30 pm Officer Caputo arrested a 16 year old male resident of Richmond after the juvenile was determined to have burglarized Safeway, at 10636 San Pablo Ave, on November 5, 2008. The juvenile was released to his guardian pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 13, 2008 at about 2:50 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a disturbance in the 11200 block of San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Frank Dewayne Churchill, a 27 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for making illegal threats. Churchill was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 12, 2008 at about 9:15 am Officer Jacala arrested a 15 year old male resident of Richmond after determining the juvenile had stolen an I-Pod from a fellow student at El Cerrito High School on November 10, 2008. Officer Jacala arrested a second 15 year old male resident of Richmond for possession of stolen property, after determining he was the one currently in possession of the I-Pod. The juveniles were released to their parents pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 12, 2008 at about 11:35 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Denny's, at 11344 San Pablo Ave, a failure to pay. After an investigation a 17 year old male resident of Oakland and a 17 year old female resident of Oakland were arrested after it was determined that they had come to the restaurant without funds and intending to steal their meal. The juveniles were released to their parents pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 11, 2008 at about 9:08 pm Officer Schillinger arrested Ana Gabriela Rodriguez, a 30 year old female resident of Richmond, and a 16 year old male resident of Richmond, after they were found in possession of stolen property during a traffic stop, and were determined to have just committed a commercial burglary at Ross, at 2000 El Cerrito Plaza. Rodriguez was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and the juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 10, 2008 at about 1:51 am Officer Wahrlich arrested Richard Nathan Hurn, a 23 year old male resident of Oakland, after Hurn fled from Police in his vehicle to evade apprehension while driving under the influence. Hurn was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 9, 2008 at about 3:26 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a subject stealing a car in the 600 block of Elm Street. Officers arrived and arrested a 13 year old male resident of Richmond for the attempted vehicle theft and possession of burglary tools. The juvenile was released to the custody of his parent, pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 9, 2008 at about 1:06 am Officer Purdy arrested Michael Scott McColery, a 40 year old male resident of Richmond, after McColery was found driving a stolen vehicle. McColery was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 8, 2008 at about 9:54 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of an automobile burglary that just occurred in the 1000 block of Contra Costa Drive. Officers quickly located the suspect fleeing the scene in a stolen vehicle. Officers arrested Eddie Alfredo Reyna Jr, a 25 year old male resident of Berkeley, for burglary and possession of stolen property. Reyna was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 8, 2008 at about 11:11 am Officer Payne arrested Raymond Dante Alexis, a 22 year old male transient, after Alexis was found in possession of a stolen vehicle during a suspicious vehicle investigation. Alexis was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 8, 2008 at about 9:54 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary that just occurred in the 1000 block of Contra Costa Drive; the suspect(s) had just fled in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle, which was reported stolen, and arrested the driver, Eddie Reyna, a 25 year old male resident of Berkeley. Reyna was found in possession of property stolen from the burglarized home and several other local burglaries. Reyna was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 6, 2008 at about 9:23 pm an El Cerrito Police Explorer observed a male burglarizing a vehicle parked at the Plaza BART Station. El Cerrito Police Officers then assisted BART Police Officers as they apprehended the suspect and took him into custody. The suspect was later found to also be in possession of assorted burglary tools.

After an investigation Esther Marie Nash, a 50 year old female resident of Richmond, was arrested for theft. Nash was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 6, 2008 at about 2:00 pm Officer Elder arrested Alonzo Daron Jett, a 24 year old male resident of Richmond after determining Jett burglarized an El Cerrito retail business on October 21, 2008. Jett was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 5, 2008 at about 4:24 pm Officer Del Prado arrested Dannette Helen Winston, a 43 year old female resident of San Pablo, after Winston was found in possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. Winston was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 3, 2008 at about 3:30 pm El Cerrito Police Officers arrested Caleb Shire Wiley, a 49 year old male resident of El Cerrito, after it was determined that Wiley had committed lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14. Wiley was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On November 1, 2008 at about 2:10 am a shooting occurred in the 4600 block of Taft Ave in the City of Richmond. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and initially eluded detention. El Cerrito Police Officers responded to assist and located the vehicle on San Pablo Ave at Solano Ave. The three occupants of the vehicle were detained and turned over to the custody of the Richmond Police Department.
