On January 30, 2009 at about 4:43 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a collision in the 7900 block of Cutting Blvd. After an investigation Joyce Demercurio, a 72 year old female resident of Kensington, was arrested for feloniously driving under the influence of alcohol. Demercurio was released pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 28, 2009 at about 1:44 pm Officer Schillinger arrested Jermayne Curtis Edwards, a 21 year old male resident of San Francisco, after Edwards was found in possession of a loaded and concealed firearm during a pedestrian stop. Edwards was released pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 28, 2009 at about 2:30 am Sergeant Horgan arrested Trevor John Valli, a 29 year old male resident of Richmond, after Valli was found in possession of an illegal weapon and methamphetamine during a traffic stop. Valli was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 27, 2009 at about 10:25 pm Officer Payne arrested Robert Martin Avelar, a 37 year old male resident of Richmond, after Avelar was found in possession of a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop. Avelar was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 25, 2009 at about 1:37 am Officer Chalk arrested Jason Lamont Green, a 22 year old male resident of Vallejo, after Green was found in possession of a loaded and concealed firearm during a traffic stop. On January 24, 2009 at about 7:00 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to reports of shoplifting at Long's, at 670 El Cerrito Plaza, and at Lucky's, at 1000 El Cerrito Plaza. After an investigation Erik John Rozema, a 43 year old male transient, was arrested for theft. Rozema was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 24, 2009 at about 12:00 am Officer Chalk arrested Anthony Deon Boughton, a 41 year old male resident of Richmond, and Felton James DeDe, a 36 year old male resident of Oakland, after the pair was found in possession of a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop. Boughton was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and DeDe was released pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 23, 2009 at about 9:45 pm Officer Thepkaysone arrested Robert Lee Wiley Jr, a 43 year old male resident of Richmond, after Wiley was found in possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. On January 22, 2009 at about 2:19 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Safeway, at 10636 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Douglas Raymond Nelson, a 63 year old male resident of Pleasant Hill, was arrested for theft. Nelson was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 20, 2009 at about 8:17 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a strong arm robbery that just occurred in the 2300 block of Mono Ave. Additional El Cerrito Police Officers had been deployed for robbery suppression and quickly arrived to assist. The suspect fled on foot into a neighborhood, where he was soon located. Keith Kernard Asberry, a 24 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for the robbery and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 19, 2009 at about 5:30 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery near the intersection of San Pablo Ave and Carlson Blvd. Officers located two of the suspects, a 16 year old male resident of Richmond and a 17 year old male resident of Richmond. The juveniles were arrested and released to their parents pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 17, 2009 at about 11:58 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Ross, at 2000 El Cerrito Plaza. After an investigation Mark Anthony Jelinek, a 41 year old male resident of San Francisco, was arrested for theft. Jelinek was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 16, 2009 at about 8:19 am El Cerrito Police Officers deployed for robbery suppression observed a 14 year old male resident of Richmond stealing a bicycle from a yard in the 7300 block of Pomona Court. The juvenile was arrested and released to a parent pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 15, 2009 at about 11:30 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a forgery in progress at California Check Cashing, at 10394 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Shakelia Renee Chatman, a 23 year old female resident of San Pablo, was arrested for forgery. Chatman was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 14, 2009 at about 6:50 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of an attempted strong arm robbery that just occurred near the intersection of San Pablo Ave and Potrero Ave. Responding Officers quickly located the suspect, Robert Cornell Jackson, a 26 year old male resident of Richmond. Jackson was arrested for the crime and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 13, 2009 at about 11:56 pm Officer Matsui arrested Damon Towan Robinson Sr, a 47 year old male resident of Benicia, after Robinson was found in possession of an illegal weapon during a traffic stop. On January 13, 2009 at about 11:24 am Corporal Wong arrested Jason Edward Charette, a 34 year old male resident of El Cerrito, after Charette was found in possession of methamphetamine during a pedestrian stop. On January 12, 2009 at about 11:35 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of two suspicious persons near the El Cerrito-Kensington border. Officers soon located and arrested Nicole Williams, a 36 year old female resident of Richmond, and Angeline Caldwell, a 43 year old female resident of Richmond, after the pair was found in possession of mail stolen from El Cerrito and Kensington residents. Williams and Caldwell were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 11, 2009 at about 8:23 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 800 block of Pomona Ave. After an investigation Courtney Johnson, a 31 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Johnson was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On January 9, 2009 at about 2:21 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a strong arm robbery that just occurred on Richmond Street at Lincoln Ave. Officers quickly located and arrested four 16 year old male residents of Richmond and one 15 year old male resident of Richmond for the crime. Two of the juveniles were released to their parents and three were transported to Juvenile Hall, pending the filing of charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office

After an investigation Maria Solano, a 52 year old female resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault.
