On Saturday March 28, 2009 at about 2:21 pm Sergeant Cliatt arrested Suzanne Dawn Terry, a 27 year old female resident of Oakland, after Terry was found in possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. Terry was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday March 25, 2009 at about 2:58 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a forgery in progress at Bank of America, at 10422 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Katrish Reanell Jones, a 28 year old female resident of Oakland, was arrested for forgery. Jones was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday March 25, 2009 at about 12:45 pm Officer Wahrlich arrested Troy Garrick Germen, a 39 year old male resident of Point Richmond, after Germen was found in possession of methamphetamine, and in felonious possession of ammunition, during a probation search. Germen was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday March 25, 2009 at about 9:17 am Officer Elder arrested Michael Coleman Perkins, a 45 year old male resident of Richmond, after Perkins was found in possession of a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop. Subsequent investigation determined Perkins had just burglarized Long's Drugs, a 670 El Cerrito Plaza, and was in possession of property stolen from the business. Perkins was also driving under the influence of alcohol, and in possession of crack cocaine. Perkins was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Tuesday March 24, 2009 at about 1:36 pm Officer Elder arrested Gregory Griffin, a 48 year old male resident of Richmond, and Glenn Amaral, a 52 year old male resident of El Cerrito, after they were found in possession of a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop. Griffin was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and Amaral was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Monday March 23, 2009 at about 4:04 pm Officer Hernandez observed a strong arm robbery in progress in the 900 block of Richmond Street. Officer Hernandez intervened and arrested the culprits, Severo Gomez-Rodriguez, an 18 year old male resident of San Pablo, and two 17 year old male residents of San Pablo. Gomez-Rodriguez was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and the juveniles were transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Sunday March 22, 2009 at about 5:06 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Ross, at 2000 El Cerrito Plaza. After an investigation Hasani Jones, a 29 year old male resident of West Sacramento, was arrested for theft. Jones was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Sunday March 22, 2009 at about 3:36 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at Walgreens, at 11565 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Willie Bowie, a 55 year old male resident of San Pablo, was arrested for burglary and theft. Bowie was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Saturday March 21, 2009 at about 3:49 am Officer Chalk arrested Kevin Megall Lewis, a 32 year old male resident of Richmond, after Lewis was found driving under the influence of alcohol and endangering two small children in his care. On Friday March 20, 2009 at about 9:36 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 6600 block of Cutting Blvd. After an investigation Dolores Windsor, a 24 year old female resident of El Cerrito, and Harold Alexis, a 26 year old male resident of El Cerrito, were arrested for assault. Windsor and Alexis were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday March 19, 2009 at about 11:13 pm Officer Cheng arrested Michael Gene Mitchell, a 37 year old male resident of Berkeley, after Mitchell was found in possession of methamphetamine during a pedestrian stop. On Wednesday March 18, 2009 at about 4:58 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at Marshall's, at 10794 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Vivian Mason, a 20 year old female resident of Richmond, Dana Young, a 30 year old female resident of Richmond, Kizuwanda Hubbard, a 34 year old female resident of Berkeley, and Lerone Mathis, a 26 year old male resident of Richmond, were arrested for burglary. Mason, Young, Hubbard and Mathis were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday March 19, 2009 at about 9:30 pm Detective Tang arrested Nyisha Nacole Thompson, a 26 year old female resident of Vallejo, after he identified Thompson as the person responsible for attempting to cash a forged check at Bank of the West, at 11100 San Pablo Ave, on November 25, 2008. Thompson was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday March 19, 2009 at about 4:16 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at Subway, at 10398 San Pablo Ave. Arriving Officers apprehended Anthony Graybeal, a 32 year old male resident of Rodeo, as he attempted to flee from the business on foot. Graybeal was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday March 19, 2009 at about 8:00 pm El Cerrito Police Detectives arrested Sylvester James Carter, a 43 year old male resident of Antioch, following an investigation which identified Carter as the person who committed a sexual assault on the evening of Tuesday March 17, 2009. Carter was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Tuesday March 17, 2009 at about 4:36 pm the California Highway Patrol received a call reporting that a person was in possession of a stolen vehicle, taken in an armed car jacking, on DMV property. El Cerrito Police Officers and Detectives responded to DMV, at 6400 Manila Ave, to assist CHP and located the vehicle. El Cerrito Officers detained the suspect, Anthony Cooper Jr, a 20 year old male resident of Richmond, until CHP arrived. Cooper was turned over to the custody of CHP pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Tuesday March 17, 2009 at about 12:16 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of prowling in the 1700 block of Ganges. Responding Officers located the three involved subjects, Keithia Heidelberg, an 18 year old female resident of Richmond, a 15 year old male resident of Richmond, and a 14 year old male resident of Richmond, nearby. After an investigation Heidelberg and the two males juveniles were arrested for attempting to burglarize the residence where they were seen prowling. Subsequent investigation was conducted by El Cerrito Police Detectives which identified Heidelberg and the two male juveniles as the persons responsible for two additional residential burglaries in El Cerrito, and a strong arm robbery in El Cerrito. Property from several of the victims was also recovered. Heidelberg was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and the juveniles were transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Saturday March 14, 2009 at about 7:08 pm Officer Guzman arrested Latoya Latrice Jackson, a 22 year old female resident of Oakland, and Ellis Foots Jr, a 22 year old male resident of Oakland, after Jackson and Foots were found in possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. Jackson and Foots were released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday March 12, 2009 at about 5:36 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Safeway, at 10636 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Marlin Glenn Williams, a 48 year old male resident of Oakland, was arrested for theft. Williams was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday March 11, 2009 at about 5:38 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a forgery in progress at California Check Cashing, at 10394 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Tamisha Nicole Saucer, a 25 year old female resident of Hercules, was arrested for forgery and possession of stolen property. Saucer was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On March 10, 2009 at about 6:26 pm a late 1990's burgundy Toyota Camry, four door with chrome rims, collided with a blind pedestrian walking southbound in the crosswalk at the BART path on Blake Street near Kearney Street, injuring the pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, making no attempt to aid the injured pedestrian. The pedestrian was utilizing his white cane for assistance at the time of the collision, and suffered minor injuries from the crash. After the collision the Camry drove westbound on Blake Street and then southbound on Kearney Street. Information regarding this vehicle or the identity of the driver is needed to assist the investigation (a surveillance photograph of the suspect vehicle can be seen below).

On Tuesday March 10, 2009 at about 9:22 pm Officer Purdy arrested Julius Banks Jones, a 40 year old male resident of Richmond, after Jones was found in possession of crack cocaine during a pedestrian stop. Jones was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Tuesday March 10, 2009 at about 12.47 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a commercial burglary that just occurred at Orchard Supply Hardware, at 1751 Eastshore Blvd. The suspect had just fled the business with property. Officers quickly located and arrested Donald Wyatt, a 57 year old male resident of Richmond, and recovered the stolen property. Wyatt was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

Missing Person Report

Qianhe (Maggie) Zhang, a 24 year old female citizen of China, was residing in El Cerrito while attending graduate school at UC Berkeley.Maggie was reported missing by her roommates to UC Berkeley PD on March 10, 2009. Maggie has not had contact with her roommates or family in China since February 2009. Maggie may be suffering from psychological issues and may be in need of a mental health evaluation.
