On Wednesday May 27, 2009 at about 12:23 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a theft that occurred at Rainbow Vacuum, at 10290 San Pablo Ave. On Monday June 8, 2009 at about Officer Matsui arrested a 13 year old female resident of Oakland after the juvenile was identified as the person who stole a large sum of cash from the business. The juvenile was released to her parent pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday May 27, 2009 at about 1:15 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a theft that just occurred at Pastime Ace Hardware, at 10057 San Pablo Ave. Upon their arrival Officers learned the suspect had already fled the scene with the property. On Wednesday June 3, 2009 at about 1:45 pm Officer Matsui arrested Jarud Isiah Overall, a 28 year old male resident of Richmond, after he determined Overall was the person responsible for the crime. Overall was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday May 29, 2009 at about 10:36 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a robbery that just occurred in the 9800 block of San Pablo Ave. Officers quickly located and arrested Jake Taylor Reynolds, an 18 year old male resident of Litchfield for the crime. Reynolds was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday May 27, 2009 at about 6:20 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a theft that just occurred at Marshall’s, at 10794 San Pablo Ave. Officers quickly located and arrested Shanae Eshawn Mason, a 26 year old female resident of Richmond, Kateisha Lashray Phelps, a 20 year old female resident of San Pablo, Tomika Estelle Lacy, a 23 year old female resident of Richmond, and Arkelah Altanik Dudley, a 23 year old female resident of Rodeo, for burglary. Mason, Phelps, Lacy and Dudley were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday May 27, 2009 at about 7:30 pm El Cerrito Police Detectives arrested Rosalio Gonzalez, a 37 year old male resident of El Cerrito, after Gonzalez was identified as the person who sexually assaulted a 14 year old girl on May 23, 2009. Gonzalez was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday May 27, 2009 at about 11:00 am Officer Cheng arrested a 12 year old male resident of Richmond and a 14 year old male resident of Richmond after determining the juveniles were members of a group of persons who attempted to rob and then battered another student at Portola Middle School on May 11, 2009. The juveniles were released to their guardians pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday May 27, 2009 at about 1:38 am Officer Del Prado arrested Diedra Cherisse Arthur, a 37 year old female resident of Oakland, after Arthur was found in possession of heroin during a traffic stop. Arthur was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday May 26, 2009 at about 12:58 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 900 block of Lexington Ave. After an investigation Brandon Joshua Thomas Robinson, a 28 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Robinson was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday May 25, 2009 at about 11:45 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of an attempted residential burglary in the 6700 block of Schmidt Lane. Responding Officers located and arrested Leroy James Styles, a 28 year old male resident of Sacramento, who was found to have also been prowling in the yard of a residence in the 600 block of Richmond Street. Styles was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Sunday May 24, 2009 at about 5:01 am Officer Guzman arrested William Joseph Agbekoh, a 24 year old male resident of Richmond, after Agbekoh fled on foot, was apprehended and found in possession of a loaded and concealed handgun during a traffic stop. Agbekoh was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday May 22, 2009 at about 10:39 pm Officer Payne arrested Aubrey Chester Holmes Jr, a 31 year old male resident of Albany, after Holmes was found under the influence of controlled substance and in possession of identity theft items during a pedestrian stop. Holmes was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday May 22, 2009 at about 2:54 pm Officer Del Prado arrested Rodrick Rodale Watson, a 44 year old male resident of Oakland, and Darryl Philip Johnson, a 53 year old male resident of Oakland, after the pair was found in possession of stolen property during a bicycle stop. Watson and Johnson were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday May 22, 2009 at about 1:36 pm Officer Caputo arrested a 16 year old male resident of Richmond after the juvenile made repeated threats to assault Officers during an investigation of a incident at El Cerrito High School. The juvenile was released to his parent pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday May 19, 2009 at about 4:00 pm the subject shown below entered Advance America, at 10003 San Pablo Ave, displayed a firearm and demanded money. The suspect was described as an African American male, 20-30 years old, about 5’7” tall and 150 lbs, wearing a yellow long sleeve shirt, and orange sweater vest and dark jeans (possibly with stripes on the back pockets). The suspect had a dark complexion, short close cut hair and may have had a chipped front tooth. After robbing the business the suspect fled on foot towards Fairmount Ave.

On Thursday May 21, 2009 at about 3:15 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 7000 block of Stockton Ave and arrested a 14 year old male resident of Richmond after he assaulted several Officers, causing minor injuries. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday May 20, 2009 at about 10:00 am Officer Cheng arrested a 14 year old male resident of Richmond after determining the juvenile was one of a group of persons who attempted to rob and then battered another student at Portola Middle School on May 11, 2009. On Wednesday May 20, 2009 at about 6:27 pm Officer Thepkaysone arrested Colleen Lynn Berini, a 25 year old female resident of Vallejo, after Berini was found in possession of an illegal weapon during an investigation of a disturbance. Berini was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday May 20, 2009 at about 12:41 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a strong arm robbery that just occurred in the 10600 block of San Pablo Ave. Responding Officers quickly located and arrested a 13 year old male resident of Richmond and a 12 year old male resident of Richmond after the pair were identified as the persons who committed the crime. The juveniles were transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

After an investigation, Daniel Ray Farrell, a 58 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Farrell was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Tuesday May 19, 2009 at about 10:16 am Officer Jacala arrested a 16 year old male resident of Richmond after determining the juvenile had stolen a mountain bike from another ECHS student. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Monday May 18, 2009 at about noon several students assaulted a teacher a Portola Middle School, while other students looked on. After an investigation El Cerrito Detectives arrested a 13 year old male resident of Richmond, a 14 year old male resident of Richmond, a 13 year old female resident of Richmond and two 14 year old female residents of Richmond. One juvenile was released to a parent, and the other juveniles were transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

After an investigation Darrell Williams, a 50 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for theft. On Sunday May 17, 2009 at about 6:55 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 2000 block of Tapscott Ave. After an investigation Ma Carmencita Concepcion, a 49 year old female resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Concepcion was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday May 15, 2009 at about 7:55 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a theft that just occurred at T-Mobile, at 3030 El Cerrito Plaza. After an investigation Alay Duenas, a 20 year old male resident of San Rafael, Jason Armstrong, a 20 year old male resident of San Pablo, a 14 year old male resident of San Francisco and a 15 year old male resident of San Francisco, were arrested for burglary. During the investigation it was also determined that Duenas had committed a similar theft at T-Mobile on May 9, 2009. The juveniles were released to their parents; Duenas and Armstrong were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday May 15, 2009 at about 7:11 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a theft that just occurred at Long's, at 10650 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation David Omar Campbell, a 31 year old male resident of Hercules, was arrested for theft. On Tuesday May 12, 2009 at about 3:43 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of an interrupted residential burglary in the 1400 block of Arlington Blvd. Officers quickly detained Darren Winters, a 48 year old male resident of Richmond, who was arrested after he was identified as one of the perpetrators. Winters was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday May 8, 2009 at about 1:15 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to the Del Norte Plaza, at 11299 San Pablo Ave, on a report of an attempted theft from a business. After an investigation Cedric Reginald Broadnax, a 25 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for attempted burglary. Broadnax was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday April 24, 2009 at about 5:55 pm a subject grabbed a woman's purse from her shoulder, knocking her to the ground, at the El Cerrito Plaza. Detective Leone investigated the strong arm robbery and identified the suspect.

On Friday May 8, 2009 Detective Leone arrested the person responsible, a 14 year old female resident of El Sobrante. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday January 16, 2009 at about 5:55 pm a subject fraudulently purchased merchandise at JayVee Liquors, at 10560 San Pablo Ave. Detective Tang investigated the crime and identified the person responsible at John William Thomas Ross, a 34 year old male resident of Modesto. Detective Tang obtained a warrant for Ross' arrest.

On Thursday May 7, 2009 Modesto PD arrested Ross on Detective Tang's warrant. Ross was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday May 6, 2009 at about 7:36 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Marshall's, at 10794 San Pablo Ave, on a report of shoplifting. After an investigation Brandon Deandre Allen, a 27 year old male resident of Martinez, was arrested for theft. Allen was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

Report Number 08-05421 / 08-11654

On Friday March 21, 2008 a subject broke a window to a vehicle in the 500 block of Ashbury Ave and stole a GPS system. On Friday June 13, 2008 a subject stole a 1992 Honda Accord from the parking lot of the El Cerrito Plaza. Detective Wentworth investigated the crimes and identified the person responsible for them as Zachariah Lazaro, an 18 year old male resident of Hayward. Detective Wentworth obtained a warrant for Lazaro's arrest.

On Monday May 4, 2009 Hayward PD located Lazaro and arrested him on Detective Wentworth's warrant. Lazaro was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Sunday May 3, 2009 at about 8:33 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 7000 block of Carol Court. After an investigation Julius Matteo Guccione Jr, a 46 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Guccione was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday May 1, 2009 at about 3:01 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Barnes and Noble, at 6050 El Cerrito Plaza, on a report of shoplifting. After an investigation Thomas Gregory Crump, a 36 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for theft. Crump was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.
