On Tuesday June 23, 2009 at about 11:36 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the El Cerrito Plaza. After an investigation Rathwan Ahmed, a 21 year old male resident of Oakland, was arrested for assault and Esam Ahmed, a 20 year old male resident of Berkeley, was arrested for possession of an illegal weapon. Rathwan Ahmed and Esam Ahmed were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday June 24, 2009 at about 3:04 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 300 block of Pomona Ave. On Wednesday July 1, 2009 El Cerrito Detectives arrested a 17 year old male resident of Pittsburg and a 17 year old female resident of Hayward for the crime. The female was released and the male was transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday June 26, 2009 at about 10:27 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 1700 block of Liberty Street. After an investigation Cochise Potts, a 24 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for child endangerment. Potts was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office

On Sunday June 28, 2009 at about 6:12 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of the theft of several bicycles that just occurred in the 1100 block of Richmond Street. Officers arrived and quickly located the thieves, who fled on the stolen bikes. The suspects, a 13 year old male resident of Richmond, a 14 year old male resident of Richmond and a 15 year old male resident of Richmond, were soon arrested and the stolen bicycles recovered. The juveniles were released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday June 29, 2009 at about 2:34 am Officer Guzman arrested Johnnie Cornelius Caldwell, a 40 year old male resident of El Cerrito, after Caldwell was found in possession of crack cocaine during a pedestrian stop. Caldwell was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday June 29, 2009 at about 9:53 pm Sergeant Cliatt arrested Anesia Vantrease Hudson, a 40 year old female resident of Richmond, after Hudson was found in possession of numerous identity theft items during a pedestrian stop. Hudson was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday June 29, 2009 at about 2:15 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a strong arm robbery in the 11200 block of San Pablo Ave. On Tuesday June 30, 2009 at about 3:00 pm El Cerrito Detectives arrested a 14 year old female resident of Richmond, a 14 year old male resident of Richmond, and a 15 year old male resident of Richmond for the crime. The males were released and the female was transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday June 3, 2009 at about 11:20 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a forgery at Bank of America, at 10422 San Pablo Ave. On July 1, 2009 at about 9:00 am El Cerrito Detectives arrested Tony Lorenzo Walker, a 49 year old male resident of Oakland, for the crime. Walker was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Sunday June 21, 2009 at about 10:49 am Officer Chalk arrested Pedro Antonio Nunez, a 38 year old male resident of Richmond, after Nunez was found in possession of cocaine during a vehicle stop investigation. Nunez was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Sunday June 21, 2009 at about 10:58 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a theft that just occurred at Lucky’s, at 1000 El Cerrito Plaza. Responding Officers quickly apprehended Reginald Wright Sherman, a 50 year old male resident of San Leandro, and arrested him for the crime. Sherman was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Saturday June 20, 2009 at about 10:50 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 2200 block of Pinehurst Court. After an investigation Michael Anthony Spears, a 50 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Spears was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday June 19, 2009 at about 9:00 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 5300 block of Cypress Ave. After an investigation a 15 year old male resident of Richmond and a 16 year old male resident of Richmond were arrested after they were found in possession of property taken in a vehicle theft the night prior, and to have been attempting to steal a vehicle in the area. The juveniles were transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday June 19, 2009 at about 8:58 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 3400 block of Belmont Ave. After an investigation Robert Charles White, a 25 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for cultivating marijuana. White was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Thursday June 18, 2009 at about 1:01 am Officer Wahrlich arrested David Omar Campbell, a 31 year old male resident of Hercules, after he observed Campbell attempting to flee Safeway, at 10636 San Pablo Ave, with stolen merchandise. After an investigation Campbell was also found to be in possession of property stolen during a recent automobile burglary. Campbell was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday June 16, 2009 at about 10:00 am Officer Del Prado arrested John Alan Bush, a 47 year old male resident of Richmond, after Bush was found in possession of methamphetamine for sales during a traffic stop. Bush was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Sunday June 14, 2009 at about 7:30 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at Trader Joe's, at 225 El Cerrito Plaza. After an investigation Trina Bayne, a 29 year old female resident of Tracy, Dnaya Marshay Gulley, a 23 year old female resident of Vallejo, and Dawn Marie Gulley, a 29 year old female resident of Richmond, were arrested for burglary and identity theft. Dnaya Gulley was released, and Bayne and Dawn Gulley were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday June 12, 2009 at about 5:25 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 7300 block of Cutting Blvd. After an investigation Eric Francisco Gavidia, a 33 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Gavidia was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday June 11, 2009 at about 12:51 am Officer Del Prado arrested Steve Drake Courie, a 57 year old male resident of Berkeley, after Courie was found in possession of methamphetamine during a bicycle stop. On Wednesday June 10, 2009 at about 10:15 am Officer Elder arrested a 14 year old male resident of Richmond after determining the juvenile had battered another Portola student and stolen his property earlier in the day. On Monday June 8, 2009 at about 1:05 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a forgery in progress at Atlas Liquors, at 11382 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Michael Lawrence Pomeroy, a 26 year old male resident of Concord, was arrested for forgery. Pomeroy was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

Castillo Jr, a 40 year old male resident of Richmond, after Castillo was found in possession of methamphetamine during a pedestrian stop. Franklin and Shaw were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday June 1, 2009 at about 3:42 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a forgery in progress at Bank of the West, at 11100 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Michael Glenn Scott, a 54 year old male resident of Oakland, was arrested for forgery and Jamar Abdul Thomas, a 32 year old male resident of San Rafael, was arrested for possession of stolen property. Scott and Thomas were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday June 1, 2009 the El Cerrito High School band room was burglarized and several guitars were stolen. Officer Jacala investigated the crime and arrested one 17 year old male resident of Richmond on Tuesday June 2, 2009, and a second 17 year old male resident of Richmond on June 3, 2009, after he identified the pair as the persons responsible for the crime. One juvenile was released to a parent and the second was transported to Juvenile Hall, pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
