Report Number 09-14060

On Wednesday July 29, 2009 at about 10:00 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 7400 block of Stockton Ave. After an investigation Margaret Trina Robinson, a 40 year old female resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Robinson was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday July 29, 2009 at about 9:08 am an African American male, about 18-20 years old, 6' tall and 170 lbs, wearing dark clothing entered Citibank, at 280 El Cerrito Plaza, and demanded money from a teller. After stealing funds from the bank, the suspect fled on foot, southbound through the Plaza and into Albany, near Brighton Ave. Witnesses observed the suspect join up with a second African American male, also about 18-20 years old, 5'10" tall and 200 lbs, wearing dark clothing and dreadlocks. The pair may have gotten into a vehicle in Albany, to flee the area.

On Tuesday July 28, 2009 at about 4:07 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a forgery in progress at Wells Fargo, at 9800 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Chad Teague Campbell, a 31 year old male resident of Vacaville, and Matthew Jason Bowerman, a 32 year old male resident of Hercules, were arrested for the crime. Campbell and Bowerman were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Monday July 27, 2009 at about 4:08 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 6000 block of Potrero Ave. After an investigation Marvin Anthony Neal, a 33 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Neal was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Sunday July 26, 2009 at about 2:35 pm Officer Payne arrested Samuel Saetane, a 22 year old male resident of San Pablo, after Saetane was found in possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. Saetane was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Sunday July 26, 2009 at about 3:03 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of San Pablo Ave and Cutting Blvd. After an investigation Justin Sterling Ross, a 21 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for assault. Ross was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Sunday July 26, 2009 at about 12:34 am Officer Elder arrested Shanta Shawn Smith, a 37 year old male resident of Richmond, and Antonio Keith Haliburton, a 45 year old male resident of Richmond, after Smith was found feloniously driving under the influence of alcohol and Haliburton was found in possession of cocaine during a traffic stop. Smith and Haliburton were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Saturday July 25, 2009 at about 12:41 am Officer Cooper arrested Kristie Anne Metz, a 37 year old female resident of San Pablo, after Metz was found in possession of heroin during a traffic stop. Metz was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday July 24, 2009 at about 7:55 pm Officer Guzman arrested Richard Edward Hill, a 31 year old male resident of Vallejo, after Hill fled from Officers on foot and was found feloniously in possession of a firearm. Hill was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday July 23, 2009 at about 12:23 pm Sergeant Bonini arrested Yuri Graham Brand, a 25 year old male resident of El Cerrito, after Brand fled from Officers in his vehicle and on foot, but was quickly apprehended at his residence. Brand was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Monday July 20, 2009 at about 2:04 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 3200 block of Santa Clara Ave. After an investigation Jesus Eduardo Espinoza, a 39 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for being under the influence and in possession of methamphetamine. Espinoza was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Monday July 20, 2009 at about 4:52 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary that just occurred in the 7100 block of Cutting Blvd; the suspects had already fled the area. On Thursday July 23, 2009 El Cerrito Police Detectives arrested Alvin James Torres, a 19 year old male resident of Richmond, Darryl Dwayne Lewis Jr, a 21 year old male resident of Richmond, and a 17 year old male resident of Richmond, for the crime. The juvenile was released to his parents and Torres and Lewis were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday July 22, 2009 at about 6:58 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 500 block of Clayton Ave. After an investigation Arne Nicholson Wilberg, a 31 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Wilberg was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday July 17, 2009 at about 7:13 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Safeway, at 10636 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Danny Arnell Gibson, a 45 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for theft. Gibson was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Friday July 17, 2009 at about 1:56 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of an attempted strong arm robbery near the intersection of Fairmount Ave and Everett Street. Responding Officers quickly located and arrested the suspect, Miguel Angel Pineda, an 18 year old male resident of Oakland. Pineda was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Monday July 13, 2009 at about 10:31 pm Officer Cooper arrested Ruby Ann Crowley, a 37 year old female resident of San Pablo, and Melinda Briley-Aguilera, a 53 year old female resident of Richmond, after Crowley and Briley-Aguilera were found in possession of controlled substances during a traffic stop. Crowley and Briley-Aguilera were released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Sunday July 12, 2009 at about 1:48 pm Officer Hernandez arrested James Volante Lee, a 26 year old male resident of Richmond, after Lee was seen driving a stolen vehicle, fled from Officers in the vehicle, abandoned the vehicle and fled from Officers on foot, and was apprehended. After his arrest Lee was also found to be in possession of crack cocaine. Lee was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Saturday July 11, 2009 at about 8:18 pm Officer Guzman arrested Andrew Jones, a 26 year old male resident of Richmond, after Jones was found in possession of a concealed and loaded firearm with an altered serial number during a traffic stop. Jones was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Saturday July 11, 2009 at about 1:56 am Officer Guzman arrested Prentiss Rance Jackson, a 41 year old male resident of Hercules, after Jackson was found in possession of methamphetamine and provided a false name during a bicycle stop. Jackson was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

After an investigation Erik Benjamin Sherwood, a 36 year old male resident of El Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Sherwood was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Thursday July 9, 2009 at about 2:20 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Lucky's, at 1000 El Cerrito Plaza, on a report of shoplifting. After an investigation Charles Richard Bachinski, a 44 year old male resident of Berkeley, was arrested for theft. Bachinski was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Monday July 13, 2009 at about 6:45 am El Cerrito Police Officers observed a stolen Honda Accord being driven in the area of Fairmount Ave and Carlson Blvd. The vehicle was driven by a male, later identified as Gabriel Walter Brown, a 35 year old male resident of Fortuna, and had a female passenger, later identified as Misty Troxtell, a 22 year old female resident of Richmond. Officers attempted to detain the vehicle, but Brown refused to yield to Officers and entered I-80 eastbound at Central Ave. Officers pursued Brown as he drove eastbound on I-80 until Brown exited the freeway at Solano Ave, in the city of Richmond. After exiting the freeway Brown collided the stolen vehicle into an apartment complex near the off-ramp. Brown and Troxtell both sustained injuries in the collision and were transported to John Muir Medical Center for treatment. Their families were notified. No other persons were injured in the collision. A cooperative Agency investigation into the incident is being conducted by the El Cerrito PD, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office and the Richmond PD.

On Wednesday July 8, 2009 at about 3:46 am Officer Thepkaysone arrested Tiffanie Christina Murphy, a 35 year old female resident of Richmond, after Murphy was found in possession of crack cocaine during a traffic stop. Murphy was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

After an investigation Felix Williamson, a 74 year old male resident of Oakland, was arrested for theft. Williamson was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday July 6, 2009 at about 5:21 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a theft that just occurred at Walgreen’s, at 11565 San Pablo Ave. Responding Officers quickly located and arrested David Scott Smith, a 24 year old male resident of Fremont, for the crime. Smith was also found to be in possession of crack cocaine. Smith was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

After an investigation Manmohan Singh, a 64 year old male resident of Richmond, was arrested for the crime.
