The City is seeking community input to assist with the development of a Citywide Neighborhood Traffic Management Program. Plan to attend a community meeting and share your thoughts:
Thursday, March 25 - drop in from 6:30-8:00 pm
Open House Senior Center, 6500 Stockton Ave.
Wednesday, March 31 - drop in from 6:30-8:00 pm
Arlington Clubhouse, 1120 Arlington Blvd.
The Neighborhood Traffic Management Program is intended to:
Provide a well-defined and equitable process of addressing speeding and traffic volume concerns on residential streets classified as local and collector roadways in the General Plan;
Establish consistent and objective screening criteria to determine if a street is a candidate for neighborhood traffic management;
Involve those affected residents in the development of a tailored traffic management plan for their neighborhood;
Provide a toolbox of potential solutions;
Provide for prioritized and cost-effective implementation of neighborhood traffic management measures, where appropriate, and investigate appropriate funding mechanism(s).
Residents can help to identify neighborhood traffic concerns and share ideas on potential strategies to adequately address those concerns.
If you have ideas on how to improve traffic conditions on residential streets and cannot attend the meetings, contact Engineering Manager Yvetteh Ortiz at (510) 215-4382.
