Get Involved!

The Recreation Department is proud of its collaborations with local business and community members. With the support of our citizens and business community, the recreation staff is able to expand many of its programs that are offered to the community. Partnering can be accomplished in several different ways; contributions to specific events and programsand scholarships for both young and old.

If you have an idea for a new program, class, event or activity, please don't hesistate to contact our Recreation staff to see how we can help. We're constantly looking for new programming opportunities to make our community better. We invite you to be involved in a partnership with the El Cerrito Recreation Department. Phone 510-559-7000 or email us.

A Gift Of Giving

The Recreation Department offers a variety of programs such as art, sports, and traditional day camps. Your tax deductible donation will help low-income children, come in off the streets and participate in some of these educational and fun programs. There is no outside grant funding available to assist in providing these programs and lowering the cost of program fees has not been an option for the City of El Cerrito's recreation programs.

Not only will you feel good about helping out, but your generous donation is tax deductible. Please make checks payable to the City of El Cerrito, Scholarship Fund. For further information regarding the David Hunter Memorial Scholarship Fund, phone Monica Kortz, Recreation Director at 510-559-7000.

David Hunter Memorial Scholarship Fund
The El Cerrito Recreation Department provides a wide range of recreational and educational activities for youth. Frequently, the people who need to utilize our programs the most are the ones who can least afford to do so. The David Hunter Memorial Scholarship Fund helps people who otherwise would not be able to participate in our recreation programs and honors the memory of David Hunter. Read more!
