The mission of the Public Works Department is to maintain, operate, develop, design, and construct public infrastructure, buildings, parks, landscapes, natural areas, integrated waste services, and environmental programs that are of vital importance to a sustainable and resilient community and to the public health, safety and well-being of the people who live, work and visit El Cerrito.
