Air Quality: The pool will remain open unless the air quality is in the Red Zone.
If the pool closes, you will receive a credit for your missed swim. Please allow 2 business days for the credit to be applied to your household.
If you are sensitive and cannot swim, please email recreation@ci.el-cerrito.ca.us for a credit.
Air quality will be tracked using purpleair.com.
Family swim for up to 5 family members
Families can now swim in with their children! The Lap Pool offers Lane 1 for reservations for families. A minimum of 2 family members per lane with a maximum of 5 family members living within the same home can swim. Children 1 years of age and younger swim for free!
Lane 1 Ladder is a shallow lane with the ladder, with a depth going from 4’ to 4’6”. Lane 1 Stairs is a shallow lane with the stairs and the ADA Chair Lift, which starts at a depth of 3’ and goes to 4’6”. Both lanes are less than half the length of a normal 25-yard lane, with a 6-foot section in the middle of the lane to keep physical distance from the other half of the lane.
There is no shallow area of this pool for children to stand, therefore families can bring their own Coast Guard approved lifejackets. The Swim Center does not provide these lifejackets, and no other toys or flotation devices are allowed.

Lanes are reserved on the hour for 45-minute time periods

Lane reservations can still be made online here.
Reservations for Residents will open for the next month on the 4th Tuesday of the prior month at 4pm.
Reservations for Non-Resident will open for the next month on the 4th Wednesday of the prior month at 4pm.

Swim Center will be open through October for Family Lanes. If the weather remains nice and families still want to reserve time in November and December, we will look into extending the dates.
Fees
$8 Resident / $10 Non-Resident for the first household member
$6 Resident / $8 Non-Resident for every other household member
Lanes may be reserved online only, no drop-in or in-person reservations. The online lane reservation system can be complicated! Please review our Online Registration Instruction page before making reservations.

Verification of Residency - Proof of household address may be requested at any time to verify residency. This may be in the form of a utility bill or rental lease.
NEW! Cancellation Policy - Lanes can now be cancelled online (no in-person or over phone cancellations) up to 7pm the day before your reservation! You can reserve lanes up until midnight the day of. A 50% processing fee will be applied, the remaining 50% will be applied as a credit to your household. The Online Instructions page has been updated with instructions on how to cancel a lane reservation.
