NEW! rEC Treks: Senior Day Trips
Adults ages 60 and older are welcome to travel with us as we explore beautiful and exciting attractions around the area. Leave the planning to us! Each trip is led by a group leader. All trips include periods of walking, standing and sitting unless otherwise indicated. Travel itineraries and details are subject to change. Pre-registration is required.
rEC Treks trips includes transportation, admissions and fares. Lunch not provided. CLICK HERE to register for trips.

Senior Support Services
Cafe Costa Senior nutrition Program
Beginning on October 4, 2022, the El Cerrito Senior Nutrition Program, Café Costa, will offer in-person lunches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the El Cerrito Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane.
As we transition back to in-person meals, the county has agreed to continue offering frozen takeaway meals until December 21, 2022. The last home delivery of frozen takeaway meals will be Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Beginning on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, all takeaway meal participants must come to the El Cerrito Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane between 10:30am-11:00am on Wednesdays to pick up frozen takeaway meals that were pre-ordered. Please note that participants are permitted to enjoy an in-person meal on Wednesdays and pick up 5 frozen meals for the remainder of the week through December 21, 2022. Reservations for in-person meals as well as frozen takeaway meals required and must be made no later than 24-36 hours in advance.
If you are 60 years or older and live in El Cerrito, you are eligible to receive FREE Easy Ride Senior & Disabled Transportation to and from the lunch program. Enrollment in the Easy Ride Program and advance reservation required. The Respite program provides a brief respite to caregivers of adults suffering from memory loss diseases such as Alzheimer's and Dementia, while offering program participants supervision and programming designed to help keep them functioning at their highest level possible. The program is held at the El Cerrito Community Center (7007 Moeser Lane) and is run in partnership with West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) Older Adult Education. The Respite program operates September through June and follows the WCCUSD calendar. Transportation to and from the program is available to El Cerrito Residents. Pre-approval is required. Fees will be calculated by the number of days attending the program and the rates are as follows: Resident $30/day and Non-Resident: $38/day. Easy Ride Paratransit Senior & disabled Transportation Service
Easy Ride Paratransit Senior & Disabled Transportation Service is a van ride service for seniors (65 and older) and persons 18 and over with a disability who are El Cerrito residents 94530. El Cerrito residents ages 60 and older attending Cafe Costa Senior Nutrition program are eligible to receive FREE Easy Ride service to get to and from the lunch program only. The cost per ride is $2. The door-to-door shuttle is funded by Measure J Sales Tax. For more information or to register CLICK HERE

Senior Peer counseling Program
" As we get older, sometimes a little help means a lot."
If you are 55 or older and facing challenges that are difficult to cope with alone, our Senior Peer Counseling program can help.
Participants connect with fellow seniors who are trained to provide assistance and support with challenges such as depression, fear, loneliness, the loss of a loved one, health changes, or isolation.
Senior Peer Counseling is available in English and Spanish. Services are free and confidential.
