El Cerrito is home to the following community arts organizations:
El Cerrito Art Association
The El Cerrito Art Association supports local artists by making available non-juried gallery space and art shows to all artists and by providing educational opportunities for their over 150 members. See exhibits of local artists' work hosted by the ECCA inside the El Cerrito Community Center, the El Cerrito Library and El Cerrito DMV.
El Cerrito High School Theater
The El Cerrito High School Theater, host to a variety of events ranging from lectures to dance shows, is a 600-seat theater at 540 Ashbury Avenue. For information about renting this space, please refer to El Cerrito High School Performing Arts Theater Usage Policy.
Contra Costa Civic Theatre
CCCT is a nonprofit community theater and one of only three live performing arts organizations with permanent homes in West Contra Costa County. CCCT is located at 951 Pomona Avenue in El Cerrito.
Rialto Cinemas Cerrito
Rialto Cinemas operates Rialto Cinemas Cerrito at 10070 San Pablo Avenue in El Cerrito. The City completed renovation of the historic 2-screen theater building in 2006.
Friends of the Cerrito Theater
Friends of the Cerrito Theater is a watchdog group dedicated to protecting the Cerrito Theater's historic elements.
worldOne Radio and Festival
Since 1999, worldOne Radio has presented the annual worldOne Festival as part of the City's July 4th Celebration.
KECG Radio
KECG (88.1 FM and 97.7 FM) is a public radio station run by El Cerrito High School. KECG offers eclectic music programming and is home to worldOne radio. Regular El Cerrito City Council meetings are also broadcast on KECG.
Kensington Symphony Orchestra
The Kensington Symphony Orchestra is a community orchestra based in West Contra Costa County. KSO membership consist of seasoned professionals, committed non-professional musicians, music educators and students from throughout the entire Bay area. The KSO presents five concert programs per season from September through June at the El Cerrito High School Performing Arts Theater and the Universalist Unitarian Church of Berkeley in the Kensington hills.
